Student Assistant – Cell Culture & Lab Support
We have received a high volume of applications and are currently pausing new submissions while we review candidates. We appreciate your interest and will reopen the posting if the position becomes available again.
Position: Student Assistant (Weekend/Flexible)
Hours: Approx. 8-10 hours/week – one fixed weekend day (usually Sunday), remaining hours flexible during the week
Compensation: 200 DKK/hour
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
Start: As soon as possible.
About us: Many of the ingredients we rely on every day, from food to medicine, still come directly from animals. This has historically caused supply limitations, introduced variability, and raised serious ethical and sustainability concerns. Meat Tomorrow exists to solve that. We are developing a cell-based biomanufacturing platform to produce these ingredients without the animal, making the process more consistent, scalable, and resilient.
The Role & Your Impact: As a Student Assistant, you will play an important supporting role in ensuring that our cell culture lab runs efficiently and smoothly. Your contributions will help our scientists focus on advancing our stem cell biology research and innovation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Weekend maintenance of livestock PSC cultures and derived cell populations (typically Sundays)
Aliquoting reagents and media for the team
Organizing and restocking lab shelves and consumables
Supporting quality control of PSC cultures via immunocytochemistry (ICC)
Maintaining laboratory equipment and LAF benches.
We are looking for someone who:
Is currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in molecular biology, biotechnology, cell biology, or a related discipline
Has some hands-on experience culturing mammalian cells (must-have); experience with PSCs is a plus
Takes ownership of recurring tasks so the rest of the team can count on them being handled
Is reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
Can commit to a flexible approx. 8-10h/week schedule that includes weekend coverage
What we offer:
👩🔬 Hands-on experience working in a stem cell biology lab
🚀 Exposure to a dynamic biotech startup environment
🕐 A flexible schedule that can work around your studies
🥳 Socials with your colleagues
Deadline: We evaluate applications on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible – the position will close once filled.
